This beach stretches for 9 miles along the east coast of Trinidad. Mayaro Beach is a popular destination for holidays, especially the Easter Holidays and long weekends. There are several activities that take place at this beach apart from the usual swimming, such as kayaking, bird watching, camping and occasionally kite surfing which makes the beach a tourist hot spot. This beach is located at the southern end of Manzanilla and can be accessed via the Guyaguayare road or the Mayaro-Naparima Road.
Unlike other beaches such as Maracas and Las Cuevas, Mayaro is less crowded and more private, which allows for an escape from the mass of tourists to pass through, giving it a true sense of privacy and relaxation. The shore of Mayaro is lined with luxurious resorts and rental homes, there are also restaurants conveniently placed nearby, such as Ambrosia Restaurant and Lounge, Deon's Fast Food and The Neighbourhood Grill to name a few, which allows for easy access after swimming. There are also attractions in the area like the Brigand Hill Lighthouse.
