Paragrant Beach or "Mal-D'esto-Mac Bay" which means "Bad Stomach" as it is also called is situated on the eastern side of Paramin overlooking the Moka Golf Course. This beach is accessed via the Fond Pois Doux Road which is located two miles from the pillars on the Maracas North Coast Road. The name refers to the steep ascent to the top or the rough conditions of the coast.
There is something amazing about Paragrant, it has a fascinating landscape with its peacefulness and refreshing mountain breeze alongside the delightful ambiance. On the southeastern side visible are La Silla or Saddle Road, The Moka Estate, The Champ Elysees Estate also known as "Fields of Happiness or Country Club" and also the Queen's Park Savannah. On the northern side you would get a panoramic view of Saut D'eau Island, La Vache Bay and to the west you would see the chive plantations of Paramin and Cameron.
During the months of July and August the sea along that coastline is at its calmest and can be most inviting. The journey to this beach will take an hour and starts on a concrete road that diverges from the main path into the forest. The bay is approximately half a mile long with silky smooth sand and on the western end, there is a small stream with a refreshing freshwater pool. The journey back up would take approximately an hour and a half, which can be a test of one's fitness but the atmosphere makes it enjoyable. This is an ideal location for a moderate to challenging hikes and can also be rented out for camping.
